The FINANCIAL -- Three pub industry heavyweights are expected to debate the
future of their industry at the Association of Licensed Multiple
Retailers' conference this spring.
The ALMR, which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary, will host JD Wetherspoon founder Tim Martin, Mitchells & Butlers executive chairman Bob Ivell and Stonegate Pub Company chairman Ian Payne at an event on 3 May.
According to Caterer and Hotelkeeper, the trio will lead the debate on the future of the industry, which will be chaired by Sky News political editor Adam Boulton.
The event, at Millbank Media Centre, central London, will also hear from suppliers explaining what they are doing to support multiple licensees and make businesses more profitable.
A "people panel' of ALMR operators will also offer top tips on how operators can recruit, retain and the train the best people.
The event will kick-off with a lunch at noon, after which a soon-to-be-confirmed speaker will deliver the keynote speech.
A Champagne reception and dinner will follow the formal proceedings, before an ALMR awards ceremony and boat party aboard the Silver Sturgeon.
