Deutsche Bank has provided a permanent loan of 600 key paintings, sculptures, works on paper and prints to the Städel Museum, which will be on show to the public in the new garden halls.

According to Deutsche Bank, in 2008, Deutsche Bank and the Städel Museum agreed to a permanent loan of 60 paintings and sculptures, 161 originals on paper and 379 prints by 46 artists from the bank’s collection. These include works by Gerhard Richter, Georg Baselitz, Sigmar Polke, Martin Kippenberger and Neo Rauch.

Since 1979, Deutsche Bank has assembled one of the world’s most important collections of contemporary artwork on paper and photographs, which is intended to encourage creativity in its employees at their place of work. While at first this collection contained mostly works from German artists, in recent years it has been increasingly internationalized. Deutsche Bank offers organized tours of the collection for the public. Over 1,800 works by 100 young artists from 40 countries are on display in the two towers of the bank’s Group Head Office in Frankfurt.
