The FINANCIAL -- Wells Fargo & Company announced that it invested $213.5 million in 19,000 nonprofits in 2011, giving more than $200 million for the fourth consecutive year. Wells Fargo team members increased their donations, which totaled more than $63.9 million and 1.5 million volunteer hours to more than 28,000 nonprofits and schools.

The FINANCIAL -- In a difficult economic environment, HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG reported results for 2011 slightly lower than the record levels in 2010. Pre-tax profit of €203.1m was 3.3% below the 2010 figure of €210.0m.

The FINANCIAL -- When Martin Weinberg, President of Xamax Industries of Seymour, Connecticut, was encouraged by his accounting firm to look to the Export-Import Bank of the United States for export financing, he was skeptical - “We wanted to go a month or two to see if Ex-Im Bank was for real,” stated Weinberg.

The FINANCIAL -- Deutsche Bank announced that Jeffrey Bunzel will join the firm’s Equity Capital Markets group as a Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets for the Americas. He will be based in New York, reporting to Mark Hantho, Global Co-Head of Equity Capital Markets.
