The FINANCIAL -- There are still spaces at
the National Student Enterprise Conference, “CTRL ALT DISRUPT”, held
this year at Aston University.
According to Aston University, the annual conference is being held this weekend, 18 and 19 February. This year called, NSEC2012: CTRL ALT DISRUPT, it focuses on disruptive innovation and business models. College and university students will have the opportunity to tap into a wealth of expertise and hear from industry experts, innovators, personal branding gurus and high-profile entrepreneurs.
The two day event will be filled with a series of keynotes, workshops, panels, Q&As, crash courses, and master classes. These all aim to help guide young entrepreneurs turn their ideas into successful business ventures.
National Consortium of University Entrepreneurs runs the conference ever year, bringing together entrepreneurial students from all over the UK for two intense days of learning, training, and networking, all designed to equip students with the tools and knowledge they need to embark or continue on successful careers as entrepreneurs.
The event has been extremely successful since it was launched in 2010, and attracts students from all disciplines and educational backgrounds with their desire to be successful entrepreneurs a common denominator. This year NACUE want to inspire delegates to spot trends and disrupt existing markets with their ideas, and have built the 2-day programme around this.
Aston demonstrates its support for students and regional businesses through a number of quality programmes. These included Aston Idol, which lets students pitch their business ideas to a panel of national and regional business representatives and its involvement in innovative business start-up programme BSEEN. This project, funded by Birmingham City Council, has provided support for over 100 graduate entrepreneurs from the West Midlands region. This includes opportunities to access extensive mentoring, free office space and business grants to help with start-up initiatives.
Last year’s conference was held in Manchester and brought together 200 of the most promising students across the UK.
